Habanero Brined and Rubbed Pork Chops
Pork chops are so good! We love them grilled, but especially so when you've rubbed them down with a nice habanero powder. Also, we wanted our pork chops nice and juicy, so we brined them. Have you ever brined? Oh, it's absolutely easy and is a great way to ensure your chops come out nice and moist. We included some additional habanero powder in our brine mixture, just to make sure the heat really came through.
Habanero Brined and Rubbed Pork Chops
Ingredients
- 2 8-ounce pork chops, about 1 inch thick each
- 1/2 cup Apple Cider vinegar
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons sea salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/2 cup habanero powder + 2 tablespoons
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Cooking Directions
- Add pork chops to a wide, flat dish and pierce with a fork in several places. Add vinegar, white wine, water, salt, sugar and 1/2 cup habanero powder. Mix well.
- Refrigerate at least 2-3 hours to marinate.
- Heat a grill to medium heat.
- Rub about 1/2 tablespoon habanero powder into each side of the pork chops.
- Grill the chops 8-10 minutes, then flip chops and grill another 4-5 minutes, or until meat is cooked thoroughly through.
- Serve!
NOTE: A ¾” inch porch chop should cook thoroughly through in about 8 minutes. You'll need 12-15 roughly for a 1" inch chop. Do not overcook, as the chops can become dry, but ensure pork is always cook through and not pink in the middle.
